3 bus service has been improved to run as frequent as every 10 minutes all day long on weekdays. Even though it takes 50 minutes to get to downtown Santa Monica, 3 is quite useful for day trips to Santa Monica and does not feel all that long.

The movie Speed promenantly featured a Santa Monica Municipal Transit Lines bus. In the movie the bus had a route number of 33. In reality route 10 is the freeway express from Santa Monica to Los Angeles. LACMTA 33 operates on Venice Blvc.
